2025 hot street rules


Class Rules

 

  • Class weight is 7000lbs. If the truck is over 7000lbs all attempts must be made to make weight. If it still doesn’t make weight it is up to judges to decide whether the truck pulls. Weights can be added, but must be behind the factory front bumper location not on bumper or in. completely behind the factory location or in bed. All weights must be secure. NO WEIGHT IN CAB OR ANY WHERE THAT COULD COME IN CONTACT WITH MOVING PARTS I.E. ENGINE OR DRIVETRAIN.
  • Drivers must not be impared in any way when operating motor vehicles in competition
  • Each truck may only be entered once for scoring purposes. If additional hooks are desired it is up to the group officials to approve, or deny the request. 
  • If anything falls from the vehicle hook to hook, it will result in a disqualification. Group officials have final say. 
  • Trucks must have functioning reverse lights for safety in the pits, as well as on the track for officials, and bystanders.
  • No Passengers allowed
  • Drivetrain must be in working order to pull
  • Engine
    1. Must be 496 CI max or smaller displacement and must match make of truck
    2. OEM iron or OEM aluminum heads ONLY, no aftermarket heads, or aftermarket blocks allowed
    3. No dominator intakes or carbs allowed

     4. Engine must be capable of pulling 13 inches of vacuum at no more than 1000rpm +/- 50

ls style engines must retain factory style intake, no sheet metal style intakes, port must be available for testing  judges discretion or at top ranking MITTP

officer's ok to hook until port is available to test vacuum. Refusing to let vacuum be tested will result in not pulling in class or exhibition. if you have been contacted by the club for vac check and did not comply no grace hook. Judges decision will be final.   Aftermarket Dual plane and single plane 4150 intakes allowed.

  1. Max 4150 carburetor, no larger than 1 3⁄4 “ butterflies in base plate. Fuel injection may be run, and must use a factory fuel injection system with factory intake. Throttle body cannot be larger than 92mm. 
  2. Performance fuel pumps and filters are allowed. Fuel lines no larger than 3⁄8” ID, -6AN (1 supply line, 1 return line)
  3. Aftermarket ignition systems are allowed, no larger than MSD 6AL or equivalent
  4. Turbochargers or superchargers are not allowed unless factory equipped.
  5. No alcohol, no methanol, no nitrous. E85 is allowed
  6. Headers are allowed, exhaust must be no larger than 3in and must exit behind cab with some type of muffler
  7. All engine accessories must be belt driven off of the crank (water pump, alternator, power steering.) AC may be removed, electric fans are allowed. 
  8. Fuel cells allowed, must be mounted in bed

  • Drivetrain
    1. Truck must run 1 ton or smaller axles
    2. Transmission and transfer case must match the make of truck. No drop boxes allowed.
    3. Tires and wheels must be DOT approved, unaltered and street legal. No duals
    4. Driveshaft loops, chains or 2in wide straps must be run, and capable of keeping driveshafts from hitting the ground in the event of breakage. U joint shields recommended on visible u joints. 
    5. Brakes must be present and working on all 4 corners 
    6. Truck must be 4wd

  • Suspension
    1. Front and rear factory suspension components must be maintained.
    2. Blocked rear suspension/ extended bump stops allowed, must be bolted or pinned and removable. 
    3. Original unaltered frame and wheelbase must be maintained.
    4. Traction bars allowed front and rear, must be bolted in 

  • Hitch
    1. Hitch structure must be mounted solid in all directions. Bolted, or welded. Rear most load bearing hitch crossbar must be mounted no more than 12 inches forward, measured from rear of factory, unaltered frame.
    2. No hitch supports allowed farther forward than centerline of rear axle.
    3. Must run  Reese style reciever hitch with no structures from hitch to axle. All height adjustments must be made at hook point.
    4. No drawbar type hitches or mid mount hitches allowed.
    5. Hook point must protrude behind stock length frame rails and bed.
    6. Distance from centerline of rear axle to hitch point must be no less then 42 in, with a 26 inch max hitch height.
    7. Must run receiver 2in or larger with  the hook point minimum 3in wide, by 3.75 deep hole, max thickness of 1.5 inch 

  • Body
    1. Factory interior must remain with no cutting or gutting of the body or bed. 
    2. Reverse lights must be present and in working order 
    3. Tailgate may be removed. All items in bed must be secured, or removed.
